“Charles R. Barker, Jr. is a Board Certified Family Practice physician. He attended Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Barker completed his Family Practice Residency, with an emphasis of Primary Care Sports from Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

His special interests include sports medicine, diabetes, osteopathic manipulation and wellness care. Dr. Barker is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Practice.

Susan Strotheide, PA-C

Susan Strotheide received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Medicine from Western Michigan University, graduating Cum Laude. Prior to coming to Charles R. Barker, Jr. Family Practice, Susan was employed as a Physician’s Assistant in Spectrum Health Urgent Care Centers providing evaluation and treatment for a variety of medical trauma issues. She also worked as a Registered Nurse in the Butterworth Hospital Emergency Department.

Performed comprehensive history and physical exams of pediatric and adult patients, documented in electronic medical record, performed in-office procedures such as Pap smears, and skin tag removal.

Obstetrics & Gynecology (6 weeks)

Completed yearly physical exams, including breast exams, pelvic exams, and Pap smears; assisted in routine obstetric office visits as well as vaginal and cesarean deliveries; assisted in gynecological surgeries such as D&C and hysterectomy.
